About Us

The Department is the implementing wing of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare of Government of Nepal. Its mandate is to empower women, especially those who are economically poor, socially discriminated or otherwise put at a disadvantage. It is also tasked with advancing child rights and mainstreaming gender concerns in decentralized planning and review.
